Prediabetes

What is Prediabetes?

Prediabetes is a health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but it is not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. Prediabetes can be prevented by taking action and making

healthier lifestyle changes.

Lifestyle Changes

There are some lifestyle changes you can take to prevent prediabetes. Making healthier food choices, eating a well balanced diet, and including fitness in your daily routine are all ways to

help prevent prediabetes.

Early Treatment

Healthy lifestyle changes are considered to be the best treatment. Early detection of prediabetes and moderate lifestyle changes can help lower blood sugar levels to normal ranges which can prevent the transition to type 2 diabetes.

Complications

You can have prediabetes and not be aware because prediabetes does not not have any signs or symptoms. Prediabetes often transitions into type 2 diabetes. This does not mean you will develop type 2 diabetes but it is often suggested to make lifestyle changes to prevent it from developing. If you have been diagnosed with prediabetes, it is important to discuss with your doctor about lifestyle changes and healthier food choices to prevent type 2 diabetes.
