Mission & Goals

Mission

The Diabetes Coalition of St Lucie County, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation in the State of Florida comprised of individuals, health care professionals, business entities, and secular and faith-based community organizations with a common purpose to address community needs related to Diabetes Mellitus prevention and care. 

Coalition Goals

  1. Evaluate existing programs and rate effectiveness while planning new services, avoiding duplication and fragmentation of services. 
  2. Improve access by minimizing economic, cultural, social, educational, and geographic barriers to optimal diabetes care. 
  3. Seek solutions to identified problems by identifying all available resources in the professional, private, and public sectors. 
  4. Inform the community of medical providers and the public of current screening procedures, latest diagnostic procedures, and current standards of medical and self-help treatment.
